Meet Jennifer

School & Community Programs Facilitator

About me

Much of my early understanding of the world was rooted in analysis and reason — a head-driven, black-and-white way of making sense of things that eventually led me to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.  But that way of seeing things didn't always help when situations became messy or emotionally charged — moments where logic alone doesn't reach the deeper meaning behind people's words.  I began noticing how easily conversations break down, even when people care deeply and have good intentions.

Over time, I became fascinated by the patterns that disrupt connection in relationships.  Even though people have strong feelings about what matters to them, those feelings aren't always expressed in ways that allow them to be heard or understood. When emotions run high and communication skills are limited, conversations can quickly shift toward defensiveness, blame, or “me versus you,” rather than curiosity and connection.

I’m especially interested in how our nervous systems shape the ways we communicate. When we’re stressed or triggered, our responses often come from a place of self-protection rather than conscious choice — even when love or care is present.  Learning to slow down, listen beneath the words, and stay present with ourselves and others is what makes it possible to stay connected, even in difficult conversations.

This is the heart of my work: helping people express themselves honestly without alienating others, and learn to listen beyond surface reactions — so conversations become more grounded, respectful, and human.

How I work

My approach is practical and relational, with learning designed to stay useful long after the session ends.

In practice, this means:

  • Programs designed with engagement in mind

Learning is most effective when people are actively involved. Whether I’m working with children, youth, or adults, I design sessions that hold attention and invite curiosity rather than passive listening.

  • Play-based and interactive learning to support understanding

Whether through LEGO®, creative activities, or visual tools, ideas become easier to grasp, remember, and apply across ages and contexts.

  • Clear, accessible language

I focus on making complex ideas understandable without oversimplifying them, so participants can use what they’re learning in everyday situations.

If you're curious whether one of my programs might be a good fit for your school, community, or organization, feel free to get in touch via the form below.
